Uses for databases in a small business? |

You may already have databases working in your organization. Some common software used for accounting, inventory management and contact management depend very much on databases. Many software vendors publish database software for use to manage data for which “of the shelf” software is not available. Some examples are Microsoft Access, Corel Corporation's Paradox and FileMaker. You may use these to manage your inventory, product list, mailing list and so on. At Nathan & Associates we use non proprietary software or open source software to produce custom applications. Some well known open source products are Postgresql, SqlLite and Firebird.
